SUET FEEDERS
A suet feeder is generally a wire basket, that a store bought suet cake fits into nicely.  These baskets can be hung by their handle (or chain) from a branch, on a bird feeder pole, or on a tree trunk.  There are other types of suet feeders too, but this is the type you might want to start with until you see who you are attracting.  When you add suet to your feeding program, not only will you attract Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Nuthatches and Titmice, but you might end up with some insect eating birds that wouldn't normally come to a seed feeder.  A basic Suet feeder is a wonderful and inexpensive addition to round out any backyard feeding program.
PEANUT FEEDERS
In the past few years mesh peanut feeders have become very popular in the bird feeding community.  There are many birds that love peanuts, including Woopeckers, Nuthatches, Titmice, Chickadees, and Blue Jays.  If you don't mind spending a little extra on peanuts, then this feeder is a fun addition to seed feeders.  These feeders are generally made out of 1/4" steel mesh that is rolled into a tube shape.  Some have perches on them, but if you're trying to attract small clinging birds like Chickadees, there's no need for them.
