SPECIALITY FEEDERS
If you're interested in a feeder to attract a certain species, there are a few "specialty" feeders made just for that.

One type that is quite popular, and has been around for many years is a globe type feeder that attracts "clinging" birds such as Chickadees, Nuthatches, and Titmice.  This type of feeder is round, made out of clear plastic, and has seed ports near the bottom so that only "clinging" type birds like Chickadees, Titmice, and Nuthatches can access the seed.  It's pretty effective at keeping larger birds from using it.

Another type of species specific feeder is a "fruit" feeder.  This is usually directed at attracting Orioles, but other birds such as Catbirds, and Mockingbirds might also use it.  Usually a fruit feeder has some kind of "spikes" for piercing a fruit half, like an orange or apple, and sometimes it will incorporate small "cups" to hold grape jelly, another favorite of some fruit eating birds.

If you decide you'd like to feed mealworms to your birds, there are feeders especially for that.  Some are just simple plastic or metal cups that you place the mealworms in, or there is the type that is shaped like a bird house, but has an entrance and exit hole on each end.  The birds go inside this type of feeder to eat.  The advantage of this type is that it will keep out larger birds.
