The birds remained at least until 6:45 when it was getting quite dark, so perhaps they will stick around through the weekend. This constitutes the earliest New York record by exactly one month. To reach this spot, take Rt 27 east through Southampton, Bridgehampton and Wainscot. Just before East Hampton, the road turns 90 degrees to the left at Town Pond. Turn right at this spot and continue until you are almost at the beach. Turn left into a parking lot about 100 meters before the road ends, and look for the Stilts in the mud along the south edge of the pond. The ROSS’S GOOSE was last reported on Monday, March 10 along Narrow Lane South in Watermill. It should be looked for in Short’s Pond and in the farm fields west to Deerfield Rd. Good Birding to All!
